The Best Portable Bluetooth Speaker

Portable Bluetooth speakers are the most convenient & most straightforward way to magnify the sound from your Smartphone or tablet across the area of a room, two bedrooms flat, or hall. Now, since Bluetooth speakers are manufactured in a wide array of shapes and sizes, it’s impossible to say that any one model is ideal for all circumstances. But after a lot of research & data compilation, we feel that the UE Wonderboom 2 will be the best choice for almost everyone. Its smooth sound and ultra-rugged yet slim design make it the perfect gadget for people of all age groups.

Specialties of the Speaker

Describing the speaker, in one phrase, we can safely state that the UE Wonderboom 2 is as euphonious as Ariana Grande but as strong as Lara Croft. Our team selected this Bluetooth speaker as the gadget with the most versatility functioning after conducting multiple tests. With proper vocal reproductivity and an appropriate amount of volume for its size, it provides absolute satisfaction & pleasure to the ears of the listeners. With an IP67 rating, it is one of the sturdiest Bluetooth speakers we’ve come across & it can withstand a 5-foot drop, and we can even dunk it in 5m of water, but because it can float, it’ll probably never sink into the water. The Wonderboom 2’s only disadvantage is its battery life, which at 8 hours is satisfactory but not anything special. We appreciate the compactness of the design of Wonderboom 2’s, but the almost-spherical shape of the model makes it a bit tough to pack it in a suitcase or any other bag.

If you desire to own a portable Bluetooth speaker that produces the sound of an excellent small stereo system yet is rugged enough to take almost anywhere, the JBL Xtreme 2 is the best choice. As per the size, the Xtreme 2 is one of the best-sounding portable Bluetooth speakers that we have tested. The listeners are in complete awe of its vocal features like -

ample bass;

high maximum volume;

and overall clear, clean sound.

With an IPX7 rating, it can survive submersion in 1 meter of water, and it is equipped with a handy, strong carrying strap. The Xtreme 2 also delivers a staggering 19 hours of battery life. But it’s much heavier and expensive than the UE Wonderboom 2.

Other Portable Bluetooth Speakers

If you have a minimal budget for buying an all-around good portable Bluetooth speaker, the Tribit XSound Go is a fantastic choice. Its sound is greater than that of almost all other portable Bluetooth speakers. The XSound Go is compact enough to adjust into a laptop bag or a suitcase, and it will function on an average of 10½ hours on a charge. Plus, having an IPX7 rating, we can state that it is sufficiently waterproof to sustain a half-hour dunking in 1 meter of water, and it is also equipped with a speakerphone function. Tribit has recently paired the XSound Go with USB-C charging and stereo functioning.

If you need a speaker that sounds a bit louder and fuller than the UE Wonderboom 2 but is more portable and affordable than the JBL Xtreme 2, the Sony SRS-XB33 is a good choice. The successor to our previous option, the SRS-XB32, the new XB33 is a little heavier and a little more efficient, with deeper bass and a somewhat more detailed and natural sound output. It has enough power to fill a 15-by-20-foot room and is filled with 16 hours of battery life. It’s also very resilient as it has an IP67 waterproof and dustproof rating. Like its predecessor, it is decorated with multicolor lights and strobes. However, it is double the size & weight of the Wonderboom 2, so it cannot be termed as portable.

The UE Hyperboom can be regarded as a portable Bluetooth speaker that performs every function well. It produces much more volume than the JBL Xtreme 2, so it can be termed as pool parties and tailgating. It also sounds delightful having-

smooth and natural vocals;

ample deep bass;

surprising ambiance for a one-piece speaker;

All the above mentioned qualities make it suitable for indoor use & with dimensions like 14.3 inches high and weight of 16.6 pounds; it’s impractical to be used for airline travel. Still, at the same time, it is compact and light enough so that most people can carry it easily. It also has an IPX4 rating, so it’ll survive all the water wreckage that goes on around a pool. It played at a reasonably decent volume for 27.5 hours on a single loop of charge in our testing period.
